I want to send a heartfelt thank you to Liz and the Dare to Dream team for the incredible experience I had in Cambodia. There are so many rewarding moments that it’s difficult to know where to begin. To see the positive social, economic and personal effects of a program about entrepreneurial education—and the difference it can make in the lives of marginalised young people—was life-changing and deeply gratifying.It was equally rewarding being able to share the experience with a group of like-minded people. It is an incredibly worthy social enterprise and a credit to the whole team. I’ve returned home inspired by the young people I had the honour to work with who are boundlessly optimistic despite the challenges of living in Cambodia. It was an eye-opening experience about the possibilities of life and entrepreneurship and I’ve returned home with a much deeper and authentic sense of gratitude for my own life and opportunities.

To say that the experience is life changing would be an understatement. The transformation you see in the students over 4 days is unbelievable and their devotion to improving the circumstances and their willingness to learn is something special. The connection you form with the students in 4 days is amazing and something you will have for the rest of your life. On top of the students you also form an instant bond with the younger children of sunrise who show you unconditional love and don’t want to let go of your hand from the second you get off the bus. Their smiles will light up any room. Finally, the relationships forged with the other business owners on the trip, along with the lessons learned throughout, are extremely valuable and potentially life changing in themselves. I will be putting my hand up to be a part of Project Gen Z trips in the future and would encourage anyone who is interested in giving back to the world to think about how they can use their current skill set to make a huge impact.

As an entrepreneur, there have been many proud moments in my business journey, but few compare to the time I have spent working with the Dare to Dream team. From my first trip to Cambodia in 2018, every moment with the team and the children at Sunrise has been life-changing. Running the educational Dare to Dream programs for Cambodian children was an incredible opportunity to give back and share my business skills. When I reflect on my time, one thing is clear: its success is driven by its founder, Liz Volpe. Liz is a woman with a deep passion for educating and empowering young people around the world. Her entrepreneurial expertise allows her to design and deliver programs that are truly life-changing. She has mastered the art of engagement and skill development, setting the standard for changemakers globally. If you are looking to work with someone who has the experience, vision, and passion to inspire the next generation, Liz Volpe is the leader you need.

Words cannot describe what impact Dare to Dream has on the beautiful children at Sunrise Cambodia. To see how your hard work of raising funds to help these incredible children is put to use is indescribable. The Apprentice Challenge is priceless. These children have come from some of the worst unimaginable past.  Just by giving them a chance and have people believing in them and encouraging them to dream big you can see them transform from a shy, unsure, quiet person, to one full of happiness. They become more confident with each passing minute and they are enjoying the challenges given to them and are having so much fun. They will carry these learning’s for many many more years to come.  I am so humbled to be part of this amazing journey which I can confidently say it has been one of the best experiences of my 41 years of life hands down.  Thank you Liz and Jesse Volpe, you two are such AMAZING human beings!! I will treasure this for as long as I live!!! 

Dare to Dream - they came, they had impact, they built a dream and dared it to happen. Life in Cambodia for a young adult from a background of poverty, impoverishment, domestic violence, abandonment or even from being trafficked is difficult enough in itself.  When this is compounded by poor education, limited opportunities and a third world economy the reality of life is pretty tough.  The Dare to Dream team gave the Sunrise kids an opportunity very few in Cambodia are privileged to enjoy. Our young adults developed skills and attitudes which will help create a chance in life.  I was fortunate to join the program, and was impressed by the approach taken by the Dare to Dream team, many of whom were volunteers.  The energy in the room was incredible. The enthusiasm for the program was electrifying. The benefit from the experience will be life long. Sunrise is indebted to the passion and commitment of the Dare to Dream team. I sincerely thank Liz and Jesse Volpe, Andrew Morello and all others who were involved. There is no doubt that it was a unique and highly rewarding learning experience for the Sunrise kids.  We very much look forward to a long partnership with Dare to Dream. Their impact was significant, and the program made a genuine and long lasting difference to the lives of the kids at Sunrise. 

I have been highly involved with Dare to Dream as a Board member since 2015, and attended every single Cambodia trip.I have the chance to work with Geraldine Cox's Sunrise Cambodia and have been lucky enough to spend time with the most adorable and affectionate children. These Cambodia trips have been very rewarding both spiritually and emotionally. It has helped me to appreciate how lucky we are to live in Australia, the land of opportunity. It has also helped me to nourish a wonderful life prospective. This trip has been a life changing for me and for the rest of the team and future leaders that joined the trip as well.  I recommend everyone to make this as part of your annual personal growth strategy to realign and recalibrate your life and everything in it.
